Hi all
my OH has been doing some online loan quotes
anyway today he got a call from kensington loans
he had missed the call and got a text to say please call on 0800 blah blah blah
anywya he rang back, and was put though to a lady who after taking all details said we had been accepted and congratulated him/us and then said she guaranteed the loan and could fast track it so it would be in the account in 3-5 days if we pay £49.?? he asked me could we afford to which i answered not until tomorrow, so he asked to ring back tomorrow
what i want to know is is this genuine? has anyone hear dof kensington and if we just pay this money are we just asking for trouble??
all advice greatly appreciated
thank you

agree to nothing and absolutely spend no money until you see the full agreement in writing.
in any event no respectable lender charges 49 to arrange a loan..you either wont get accepted or if you do it will be at a very high interest rate.. forget about it.0 -
Kensington really arent a nice company to deal with - a friend of mine had terrible trouble with them and if you default the fees are unbelievable. why should you have to pay them money - they will make enough money out of you in the long run - please be careful!0

Agree with all the above. My brother-in-law had a hard time with Kensington. There should be no requirement to pay any up-front fee - no decent lender charges this for a straightforward unsecured loan.0
