I want to highlight this comp, because it's a bit unusual, in that it starts tomorrow, but to be included you must follow them on Twitter before 9 am tomorrow morning.
Thanks to happymumto2 for posting the comp :T Hope she doesn't mind my interfering. All the info is in her post, but it would be easy to miss the main point and I thought this was the best way to draw attention to it in time.

Is this an attempt to stop 'professional' compers from entering?0

God I'm so paranoid. LOL, at first I thought you mean me posting about it
Then I realised what you meant - have a feeling you're probably right.

The twitter is a Mse compers twitter!!! xxxx
Lovely lady, I won a comp before with her x#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

I'm pondering why she'd block people then. Still, it's her account I s'pose she can do what she likes with it ...
Have just opened the extended tweet re not accepting new followers for the comp after 9am:
This is to say thanks to everyone that has been so kind to me since I started comping, prize is a mixture of things, books, signed book, beauty samples, perfume, iPhone 5 case, necklace, Wii game etc, will get a photo up after half term!! #Competition will end Sunday 8th December so I can post it out and get it to the winner before Christmas xx0 -
God am so oblivious! Only just spotted this :rotfl:
I do not object to professional compers in the slightest (in fact I have been called one myself )
I'm a Twitterholic (sure that term must be in the Oxford Dictionary by now!). Have run comps all year a lot of my wins come from Twitter, and I would be winning nothing if I hadn't found this part of MSE (so a huge thanks to everyone on here xx)
I could have sold unwanted/unsuitable prizes but instead as a small way of saying thanks to everyone, I give them away in small comps of my own. It means I have followers so don't have to keep unfollowing people when I hit 2000 limit.
The reason some people may find they are blocked is not a personal issue, but after a few months it was obvious that people unfollowed immediately after I drew a winner and the re-followed in time for the next draw, which I didn't think was fair on those poor souls that put up with my comping tweets day to day. Only way I could make sure it was fair was to block serial unfollowers. And that's why I now only let people already following be included xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

becky, what a lovely thing to do! It's a nice idea to give back to other compers items that are unwanted. I've thought of it myself for my blog and I'm currently saving up small wins to make a hamper to give away.
The thing is you have your twitter giveaways to ensure you have enough people following you to go over the 2000 limit. For me (and likely others) my only option is to unfollow periodically and refollow as competitions turn up.
I'm not saying you're wrong to do as you're doing, it's your twitter page and your competition but I'm just putting forward my opinion
May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx0 -

Fully agree with you, and if they were now and then comps then yes that is a fair comment. But have run a comp (don't quote me but think I started in Jan/Feb) every month, start on 1st or thereabouts and end last day of month apart from December (so I could post it out for Christmas). But literally I'd end a comp at say 6pm, by 8pm 100+ would have unfollowed and they would refollow and RT hours before the next draw.
Am not a company, the prizes are unsuitable for me, or my family, but I also give vouchers which come out of my own pocket (I don't have a blog or sponsorship etc).
I just thought (and still do think) it is fairer that whatever the prize is it goes to a regular follower to say thanks xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
