Bankruptcy debts rear ugly head again?!

Hey friendly helpful guys, I was made bankrupt in Feb 2009 and discharged some 6 months later.
Anyhoo, after consulting my credit rating on Experian recently I noted that my mortgage and one of my credit cards was still showing I was behind on my payments from before my bankruptcy so I sent them off letters with my bankruptcy order to prove I no longer owed them any money. But to top it off I also received a lovely letter from another credit card (in the form of a debt collection agency) saying I owed them over 4k in unpaid dues! !!!!!!!! so again I have sent them a letter with my bankruptcy order to prove to them I don't owe them anything and told them to ' jog on' .
What I am asking is........has the court made a mistake and not told these companies I went bankrupt (nearly 5 yrs now!) or are they just chancing their arm and expecting im gonna be foolish enough to pay them?!
On Experian I am listed as 'fair' now whereas on credit expert I am 'very poor'.
Don't get me wrong I didn't take bankruptcy lightly and almost had a nervous breakdown with bailiff letters coming through the door faster than take away menus. I just want to know that once made bankrupt you are truly bankrupt and I am 100% sure I filled out all the creditors that I owed monies to,so why are they still chasing me for outstanding amounts that should have been wiped 5 yrs ago???:(

  • I'd go for option "B" they're chancing what they can all debts apart from an odd one or two would be included in your Bankruptcy even if you'd forgot one..

Barclays did it with me chased for a good while until I complained with help from my OR's office to the office of fair trading..see what happens after you've sent copies of your order if they still continue worth a call to the ORs office who dealt with your case they can advise the next course of action if creditors are still being useless...

dont panic...your 101% bankrupt till it falls of your credit files in 6yrs

Just wanted to check - the mortgage you refer to above is/was on a property that has since been repossessed, correct?
