Job offer from "IT Developers Limited" - hoax
SharpReload
Just as a warning, if anyone gets an email offering them a job claiming their CV was found online by this company, ignore it entirely. It seems to be some kind of identity theft deal to move some stolen money around, and is no doubt intended to steal your bank details as well.
They may send you the following links. This should be your dead giveaway.
it-developers-limited.com/job/finance2?lang=uk
it-developers-limited.com/job/finance/faq
it-developers-limited.com/job/finance-bonus?lang=uk
Of course, if I'm wrong and this is totally legit, please correct me as I'll snap the job right up :P

Looks like a standard payment processing scam to me. You would be "employed" to receive payments into your personal bank account and then forward them on to the scammers (via Western Union/MoneyGram). The payments would come from victims of other scams or other criminal activities.
The scam would eventually be uncovered and when the authorities investigate they would end up knocking at your door and investigating you for money laundering and whatever other fraud charges they can make stick.
The company name being used does exist, but that is not their website (it's a fake set up a couple of weeks ago).0 -
Hi There,
Not sure if anybody can help me out here.
I actually work for the company who's identity is being stolen here (www(dot)it-developers(dot)net - not allowed to post links due to being a new user)
We are receiving a lot of calls from people who are receiving these emails and want to know more (obviously googling the name and coming up with out website and phone number), There are a few people who have actually sent off bank statements and Passport numbers.
Does anybody know anything we can do to try and stop these emails being sent or to try and close this company down?
Thanks,
Lewis0 -

Hi,
You could try getting in contact with the domain registrar - PakNIC.com and explain the situation to them and see if you can persuade them to act.
If that doesn't work and if you (or your bosses) don't mind a trip to the shadier side of the net then I would recommend a visit to 419eater.com - they have an excellent record of closing down fraudulent domains - just point them at the fake job descriptions that the OP posted and they'll immediately see the site for what it is (they may even already be aware of it and working on it).0 -
Thanks for the reply.
I'll look into it.

Nothing shady about 419eater.com - they do work with domain registrars and hosts to get fake sites involved in this kind of scam closed though.
I also suggest a large box on your proper website front page warning people it's a scam, and have the phone switchboard/PBX play a standard message before putting the call through0 -

I agree
- but it is a site that a visit to using the office network might cause raised eyebrows by the mis-informed if the reason is not known.
Just paid a little visit and they are already aware of the site and have been working on closing it down for a couple of weeks. The thread is behind a log-in, so you will need to register to see the details, but if you search on the domain name it should come up. They've also got a few more email addresses listed that they've reported to in addition to the PakNIK one that imoneyop mentions.0 -
I received an email from a similar sounding company today, I replied asking how I could possibly be offered a job without them meeting me first? they replied back with loads of info about this amazing job which I course suspected to be dodgy.
On googling the firm it turned out to be no better than money laundering, I contacted them saying never email me again or I would report them to the authoritiesThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson
