Gifting tickets without the tickets

Options
I'm aware that title is slightly confusing!

I've just bought concert tickets for my boyfriend for his Christmas present, however, the email I got says that they might not arrive until the week before the concert itself which is not until March. So - I've bought a CD of the band to wrap up and give to him, if the concert tickets arrive then I'll put them in a money wallet and wrap it with the CD but if they don't -

Any suggestions on what I can do as 'replacement' tickets or to let him know I've got him concert tickets without just saying 'Hey I've bought us tickets!'

Looking for something creative and this is the best place to ask!

Thank you in advance.

I've used this site to do a 'mock up' of tickets in the past for similar situations :)

How about some kind of cryptic 'save the date'?

Thanks for this, I've just bought tickets for something that isn't until April, so I definitely won't get anything to wrap in time for Christmas!

Where did you buy them from? Some ticket-selling websites do a sort of certificate thing that you can give in place of the actual ticket, to say you've got them the ticket.

That's interesting. I got them from Aloud?

  • When I buy tickets as a Christmas gift, I send a small diary for the year ahead to the recipient and write in it under the date of the concert/event something like 'Go to see {insert name} at {insert venue}', putting the diary's ribbon divider or a marker through the page before wrapping it.

I have done a mock ticket, or a montage of the artist/team /band and the date & venue, then print it out onto photo paper, then pop into an envelope or gift box.
  • Thank you for posting the link for the mock tickets I've just made one in 5 minutes for tickets I've bought for Christmas for John Bishop next November :)

Don't know if they do it, I've never heard of them :rotfl:. But you could get in touch and ask if they do anything like that. If not then it'd be easy to make up your own voucher/certificate thing and print out.
