I've signed up but I already know I won't make the 25 sfd's required.Reason being I get paid weekly in benefits(the monthly earnings from the part time job go to stepchange) and as I have 5 children at home I can't physically fit in all I need for a week in the fridge/freezer.Same with fruit. So I do a weekly shop and then half way through have to do another for bread and milk and fruit.Am I still OK to go for the rest of the challenge and try and get as many sfd's as I can or should I bow out gracefully?

Oooooh just saw this! Ha ha! You could have inboxed me honey.. But this is super cool...
I don't want anyone bowing out so the sake of my imposed SFD's...
Please please stay with us but what I will ask of you is a to meal plan and keep track of EVERY little spend .....
I have the same issue with fridge/freezer space but not the kids so I empathise greatly..
How many do you think you could manage?... I saw you mentioned 3 last month??.. come on now I think you could aim for 12-15 at least yes??...
Tell me your thoughts....“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
I'm going to try for 15 as this whole concept is new to me and I do need to get out of the habit of spending every day.I have my notebook ready and am already wondering if I can eke out my last bit of diesel and fill up tomorrow when I do the shopping and pay bills online instead of filling up today. It's all a bit complicated for me as I get money weekly on saturdays, child benefit weekly on Tuesdays and then wages on the 28th.I haven't had full wages yet because their cut off date is the 12th and I only started on the 7th so only had a few days wages. It's awkward juggling money weekly-I'd much rather have it monthly but I can't see any way of switching to monthly benefits as we'd have nothing to live on waiting for the first monthly payment as the wages go to stepchange.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

I also have money coming in at different times so as a rule use my monthly salary for mortgage /bills/direct debits (one account)and my tax credits/child benefit/board from hubby for everything else(second account and cash). It works fairly well although my hours have dropped so will have to top up for dds this month!
Good luck with the challenge x'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -

I did think of that but with the bills needing to be paid at stupid times it doesn't work and also Tuesday my youngest doesn't have playgroup and I absolutely refuse to go shopping with kids and in the evening I do a sign language course.Shopping at the weekends works better for me I have found. What I might try and do is not touch the Tuesday money till Saturday as it's a much smaller amount but not this month as I would have to change the whole budget around so will try that next month
