sainsburys harassment

I have been on a DMP for 2 years now with stepchange and all my creditors are great (well, they tend to leave me to get on with things), apart from Sainsburys who i have a credit card debt and a loan.
On the loan side of things they are fine, but it is the card services that keep hassling me for a debt of £1500.
They did stop interest for a while, but they have started again this year.
Since June/July they have kept phoning me around 3-4 times a week. I did tell them to stop phoning and for all correspondence via mail. In august I don't think I got a single call from them, but it soon flared up again and I just ignore the calls and let it go to voice mail. sometimes its an automated message that is left asking me to call them, others it is a person who leaves a message.
Anyway I sent them a letter last week using a template from the site asking to stop hassling me, which I know they got (sent recorded) and for anything to be done in writing and to remove my number from the database (another template letter from here), which they have 28 days to do.
Since they got the letter they have been calling twice a day and now leaving messages from 'Sainsbury finance' not 'sainsburys bank' and its from a woman with a very soft, sincere voice.
is it normal for them to increase the frequency of calls after a complaint for harassment?

Well, i got a letter today, and a cheque for £30 to say sorry
It did say that they have tried to ring me over the complaint this week, but then noticed that all correspondence is wanted in writing lol0 -
