Endowment Compensation

Hi Folks,
I have recently been contacted by a firm which states that they will be able to persue my case for compensation but I have my doubts-
The time limit expired in Scotland over a year ago.
I had tried to claim compensation by myself and through companies numerous times but due to lack of evidence I/they always hit a 'brick wall' until I found the evidence to prove who had mis sold me my endowment. By the time I sent this information to the company concerned they said that I had missed the deadline by 3 months. I appealed to the Ombudsman but they ruled in favour of the company.
I feel totally cheated but excepted the ruling and put it behind me.
Now this company says that the deadline does not apply and that the UK government has suspended the rule due to the whole PPI mess with the banks etc.
They are asking for a fee of £80 for obtaining copies from my lender and endowment company.
Am I right in thinking that all chances of compensation have passed or do I trust this company in the hope of obtaining compensation?
All advice is very much welcome

EMACs by any chance?I had tried to claim compensation by myself and through companies numerous times but due to lack of evidence I/they always hit a 'brick wall' until I found the evidence to prove who had mis sold me my endowment. So, you know that you that the door has closed on that now.Now this company says that the deadline does not apply and that the UK government has suspended the rule due to the whole PPI mess with the banks etc.
Dodgy claims companies make things up. First of all the Government leaves the regulation of financial services to the regulator. There has been no suspension of any rules by either the Government or regulator. Indeed, it has not been long agreed that PPI complaints can be timebarred. So, the complete opposite of what this cold calling scammer told you. They are asking for a fee of £80 for obtaining copies from my lender and endowment company.
And there is the advance fee you see on a typical advance fee fraud case.
In case you are not aware of what advance fee fraud is, if you ever watched hustle, nearly every episode used a variation of it.
1 - you appeal to the greed of the individual by suggesting some benefit to them (in this case you getting your endowment compensation)
2 - you tell them it can be done by using some made up loophole or lies that sound potentially viable but are complete rubbish.
3 -You then hit them with a fee but the person is so consumed by their greed that they pay the fee without thinking.Am I right in thinking that all chances of compensation have passed or do I trust this company in the hope of obtaining compensation?
