Hi
Interesting BBC article on the 'Energy Market'
The huge price increases are hitting peoples budgets, debts & finances hard
Will anything change? Cannot see it myself
Hard times

Well, we haven't got gas, we have oil, and you cant pay for that on a monthly basis, you gotta fork out all at once and 500L costs around £350 depending where you live, big chunk all at once, and you need to fill up on average 3 times a year, electric managed to get on a really good fixed deal till 2016 so that's not to bad, just the oil a pain really.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I can't do much to reduce electricity consumption (fortunately only at £180 last year, so can cope with an extra £18-ish) but, thanks to a deep layer of loft insulation that went in recently, my daily gas usage, over the last quarter, has been almost half what it was, over the same period last year.
this year's combined energy costs will be no higher (perhaps even a bit lower) than last year's. 0 -
Hi
Electric and gas I am afraid
We are considering opening up the old fireplace in the front room and having an open fire again
Maybe burn a few logs and a bit of cheap solid fuel (mostly at night so the smoke out the chimney is not spotted:)
Seriously the open fire used to give out some real heat and looked the part - long time ago since I used to get the solid fuel free when working in another industry:)
Maybe this industry will someday make a comeback, tough, but great times0
