Thanks Beanie, will ask on Friday when I go for stitches out. My left leg has atrophied and the calf is 2 inches smaller in circumference than the right, the thigh is a 3.5 inch difference
Definitely need to do something. It's been noticed by DH now so it must be obvious!

Best tip I got, though probably really obvious, is to do your physio in front of a mirror. This allowed me to correct the imbalance between my good and bad legs that I was totally unaware of.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st 1lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hi All,
All quiet on debt front but the tax credits saga continues...
Last week I received a payment of £12 the day after calling up. On Friday I received a letter stating that payments were dropping to £11 a week. Today £33 appears in my account. Putting the confusion down to the speed (or lack of it) that letters take to arrive I waited until lo and behold a letter arrives telling me that £33 is correct. HOWEVER, despite being very clear that DD1 will be in full time education on 1st September the letter states a reduction due to her leaving education on 31st August 2014
After 35 minutes on hold I gave up calling and will try again later.
My leg is giving me quite a bit of pain today (mostly a constant ache and a burning sensation in the scar) so I managed to contort myself so I could see the scar (god knows how as I have a 35" inside leg and poor eyesight!). Looking closely I noticed what looked like a thick dark hair sticking out. Carefully using tweezers I pulled it and it turns out to be a 1cm long bit of the thread used for stitching!
I'm absolutely livid! I specifically asked for the practice nurse to remove them. I expressed concern at the surgery because I was given an appointment with a "health care professional" (who has previously caused me issues) and she said during the procedure that she hadn't removed this type of suture before.
I've since called the surgery and have an emergency appointment tomorrow for a (real and qualified) nurse to take a look. There are four areas where the incision has come apart, it's very painful and I just don't know what to do anymore.
And to top it all off work have written to me and if I'm not back in the office by 13th June I'll drop to half pay. Not what I needed today but when have HR departments ever been sympathetic?
After all this I'm in serious need of cake! So I'm taking myself out to scour the yellow sticker shelf for some frugal comfort food.

Pah - not surprised you're livid with them! Definitely a good idea to get it checked out by someone you have confidence in too. As for the tax credits people - well words fail, me! What a bunch of......well, I'll leave that to your imagination!

Hello peoples!!!
Hope you are all well.
First the bad bit...The Leg. The "real" nurse found another missed stitch
had to be dug out (not nice!) but she was fab. Dressed the wounds and allowed me to do the daily re-dressing myself. All looking good now, she also LISTENED which is more than any of the doctors I've seen have managed. She sent me off for a full blood panel and we have a conclusion! My vitamin D levels are extremely low - well below the NHS "deficiency criteria". I'm now taking supplements and need to be retested in 2 months. The upside is this explains a whole range of issues - the bone and muscle pain, the cramps, headaches, dental issues and even the looming depression I've been battling. It's also potentially the cause of the break in the first place! I'm furious that it's taken a year to get to this point and I've been fobbed off with whispers of rarities and weirdness. I'm also wondering if this surgery was even necessary or if it could have been significantly less painful if this had been noticed sooner but that's one to bash the consultant with next month
The work/sick pay issue has been resolved. Quite a few bits and pieces came to light including a very unfair glitch/loophole in the system but as I have time on mt hands I have thrown myself into arguing my case and thanks to the support of my lovely boss I feel like I've come out on top. Just need to negotiate returning to work now...
Family life is good. DH has been on nights for 2 weeks - one of which has been half term! but we're still plodding along. The kids have been lovely amd even DH hasn't annoyed me too much
I can't say it's all roses and rainbows but the 6 of us are muddling through together. Exams have begun for teens and nobody has had a major tantrum so it's all good.
And finally... the debts (so good to have this at the end as the positive and uplifting part
) all quiet, all playing nicely, all paid what I have available for them. There are a few letters I need to write regarding interest being stopped but the fights I thought I'd need to have aren't happening, the calls and texts have ceased and the letters have slowed down. I'm no longer afraid to answer the phone or open the post. In fact there have been days where I haven't even thought about debt or money which has made me much nicer to be around in general. In fact I think this has deferred the cabin fever to some extent as I'm more than happy to be sat at home with a cuppa, watching Netflix and reading, I'm really enjoying my little bubble
Take care all, and have a great weekend
