Does anyone leave Christmas present shopping to the last minute on purpose?

I honestly couldn't cope with the stress! I tend to have finished by first week of December although occasionally I may still need to pick up bits during the week after work but ever since I worked 90% of my shopping is complete by first week of dec.

How do people do it so late? why leave it?
