I would say hot water and a detergent! I can clean most things with hot water and a drop of either washing up liquid or stardrops ( and stardrops can double up as either - washing up liquid, washing liquid (for handwash), carpet cleaner, and all purpose cleaner.
    loads of rags!
Bicarb - makes a better Shake and Vac than the original - if you want scent mix it with scented talcum powder (available really cheaply in charity shops). also useful for 'smelly stains' on carpets, upholstery and clothes.
and I recently discovered a product called 'Elbow Grease' - this MELTS grease - so my deep fat fryer has had the best clean its had in years! in half the time.

Are star drops and antibacterial? Xxx

star drops are best avoided if you have any kind of allergy.. It aggravates the chest and leaves lots of people wheezing.. horrible stuff.. and it leaves everything streaky and sticky even if you use the tiniest drop in a bucket of water.

stardrops and something for limescale, in theory.

In practice I'm still using up the contents of my cleaning cupboard and I haven't bought anything for over a year. Maybe I just don't clean that much :)

Bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar will clean most things. Washing up liquid works well as a multi purpose cleaner.
  • Limescale toilet cleaner which is a must around here because the water is so hard.
Disinfectant.....31p from Wilko's for the bins
    White Vinegar
    Washing up liquid
    Bio Washing powder
    Bicarb
Soda crystals which are great for putting in with the washing powder to soften the water in the washing machine or adding down a drain with vinegar to clear out smelly drains.

I make an all round cleaner using equal parts of white vinegar, washing up liquid and a tbsp of washing powder. I put it into a bottle and give it a good shake it cleans everything even burnt pans just apply and leave overnight then just wipe off in the morning.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
