Discharged August 2009 - Finance?

Hi all,
I was declared BR Dec 2008 and discharged August 2009. Due to a relationship breakdown I need to source a car, to travel to work, and nursery for my son.
What are the chances of getting a small amount of car credit (max £3000) for a half decent vehicle? My credit score last time I looked (about 6 months ago) was 820 and I'd managed to clean it up accordingly (no outstanding defaults)
I've been paying the £189 a month on our family car which is in my ex's name therefore I can't keep it despite the fact I pay the insurance, tax, fuel and the finance on it!!!

sorry to say until bankruptcy drops off your credit files it's near impossible to get forms of credit unless the APR is sky high
have you thought about local credit union?? you could put a little away with them and in a while may be offered a small loan
and forget about the mythical "credit score" its meaningless....a number that makes NO sense what so ever yet some people seem to obsess about it, most lenders now do in house clearing anyhoo so dont give a damn about your scoreNot quite a newbie as you think
