    Ah, thanks.

A neighbour has one for sale. Thought it might be a good way of getting an entertainment centre for our TV,

Xbox live is pricey and ongoing so I won't bother.

    thanks

  • We get Netflix on our Wii console, I suspect you could get one for not a lot on eBay.

Last time I paid my sub it was about £28 which works out at £2.33 which isn't a lot, a pint costs more than that.

if you buy a prepaid card off ebay/asda/amazon then its around 28-32 a year versus the 5.99 if monthly from xbox its worth the £30 on average a year for gold

Don't want to wade into a console war here, but as said, Wii (and PS3) offer access to Netflix without an additional ongoing charge. If you want an entertainment centre rather than a games console, you might want to look into a set top box like a Roku. If you look on eBay you can usually pick up a Netflix capable machine for around £40 I believe.

    Thanks all...
It was just a thought. The big fat TV, in the back room, can't get a decent signal.

My neighbour's son is selling his xbox so I thought it might make the 'spare' tv more interesting for me when football was on.

I don't specifically need netfix but I thought that tv on demand would be good. Or I could play a dvd on it if I wanted to as well.

He wants £100 for it with a remote control an 5 months of xbox live.

I would rather have a new tv but this seemed a cheaper alternative.

    thanks for the suggestions
