Where to get loan when everyone turns you down?
Well the one thing I hoped wouldn't happen has, our car broke down and apparently will take £500 minimum to fix it.
£500 isn't a load of dosh on the grand scheme of things but it is when you don't have it. I have a poor credit rating as does my Mrs, have tried all morning to get credit card from the likes of Aqua, Vanquis but all declined. No we don't have any family or friends who will lend us the money, the only option I can see is payday loans but again 1 month would not be long enough for us to pay it back, I earn min wage and my partner also earns min wage working part time.
The reality is no car = no job as we live in the sticks, a car is essential.

Credit union but you might have to have saved with them for a period of time before you can borrow the money.0 -
Have you asked your employer? They may give one they can claim back via your salary.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

Can you get something else that will last just a few months and sell / scrap the existing car? Or what about a used moped? Not much fun in the winter I know but it would be very cheap to run as well as to buy.0

What's wrong with the car? Maybe you can get repairs for a lot less than £500."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

how far do you actually live from work, perhaps a bike as a temporary solution until you get the car fixed ?0
