Help with First Direct Letter of Consent

Hello people. My wife has just received a "Letter of Consent and Postponement by Deed" from FD along with other documents and we have a couple of questions so I wonder if anyone that has completed these can help?
First, I am the only person named in the mortgage, that was our decision and we knew the letter was on the way. Second, we completely undestand the need for the letter and what it implies. Now, the letter comes stapled to the "Legal Mortgage" and "Mortgage Deed Conditions" so the main question is this: should I be signing the last page of the "Legal Mortgage" documents? This page does have my name and it requires a witness but I am not sure I should be signing it at this stage, I mean, the letter was addressed to my wife and it has no instructions for me as the mortgagor. Also, the second page of the "Legal Mortgage" has a blank date which I guess should be completed but similarly I am not sure I should be completing it right now. Shouldnt this be completed and signed by me with my solicitor at the explicit request of FD? I am a first time buyer so the whole process is new to me and boy what a pain it has been. Paperwork aint fun :(

Many thanks all! :)

If the letter is addressed to your wife. Then the enclosures are for her reference not for you. In order that there is no ambiguity as to what she is signing.
