In that case, your options as I see are:
1. Call the company, offer to pay instalments to avoid court. Maybe consider saying you may defend it on the basis of unreasonable default payments if they flat refuse.
2 defend it, risk losing. For help look at CAG forums. They deal with this all the time.

I have just filled my defence.
I had a loan with the company for £200 in Oct 2008, paid them £40 in November and then called them and explained to them that I cannot afford payments as my circumstances had changed, they told me I could pay £40 a month to clear the £200 and that they would freeze all interest and charges. So i agreed paying them a futher £40 a month for 5 months in total between Dec 2008 and July 2009. Total paid was £240 . I am in enough financial difficulty without a CCJ becoming a burden on me for the next 6 years.0
