Os and half term

First let me confess I have fallen off the os wagon for a bit but going to use half term to get myself sorted.
Food - using up freezer and store cupboard and menu planning again although dh has been ill the last couple of days so had to change a few things. I found a couple of nice sausages in the freezer so going to use them to make meatballs later by skinning them and adding onion, herbs and breadcrumbs soaked in some milk.
Electricity - on E@n and did their comparison with similar property. We used 63% more than other houses last year  checking lights switched off and nothing on standby. Have also switched to fixed contract so hope that will save us some money. Turning down heat and making us wear another layer instead. I am also going to use the slow cooker more.
Clutter - have joined local recycling group so hope to declutter a bit that way. Hopefully we not be tempted to add to the clutter! Have some baby clothes and toys which my son no longer plays with. I am also testing some Duplo at the moment which has been a big hit with the wee man.
Clothes - we should not need to buy any for ourselves and our little boy has a birthday coming up so will ask family for pjs and tops.
Beauty - going to try to look after myself over half term by using up the beauty products I have already but never seem to find the time to use. I am also going to reduce my tea consumption by switching to mint tea in the afternoons.
half term entertainment - splashing in puddles in the park, helping mummy make bread, making art, dancing.

Cookie, how old is your youngster? Just cos if you look on Pinterest you could find some easy craft things that you could do with him that you can then give as gifts at Christmas. Perhaps get him to help make cakes. And for Halloween get a load of straws and hold them together with an elastic band, then make up some jelly and pour into the straws. Leave to set and get out by running straws under hot tap. Instant worms!!!!
If you'd like any more ideas for easy things with young children just shout!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
