  • Jeez - for skin, gynae etc I usually go to an NHS consultant who has a private practice- he/she sees me for about £120 and then treats me at NHS hozzy for free. Can they bump you back into NHS. tell them you do not have this money otherwise costs may spiral.

I think when the report comes to us in a couple of weeks maybe I could fax it through to nhs hospital and see if they will take it over but not sure if they will as this hospital we went to see are definitely not nhs at all x
    Now on the 5:2 diet.

    Xmas Saver!
Added another item to my basket to get through to checkout at currys, but when I do it says that the oven is OOS.
  • The problem we have is he is very angry and aggressive at school and he is at the point where he can't cope in the classroom. We keep ringing nhs secretary and keep getting told still another year. He was excluded last month and just hates school so much. We just need help now I can't wait another year the longer it goes on the longer it will take to get better xxx

If you could get the money together it would obviously help you all so much. I can imagine it would be very costly though.

There is a few of us on here with personal experience of autism, ADHD etc so please don't ever be afraid to ask for advice and the occasional hug xx

    Morning Everybody

I have my BS parcel due within the hour only 1 dispatch email and did 4 orders so not sure what will turn up.

Had quite an emotional day yesterday we had our appointment with private hospital in London about our's DS behaviour.
He had a Qeeg test to check brain wave patterns which can apparently determine ADHD or ADD. We had a 2 hour talk with a Child Psychiatrist who asked many questions about all his life (Now 7 years old).
Well she wants us to do the full Autistic Diagnostics tests which is quite lengthy as she is convinced of this. Plus possible ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) plus possible ODD (Oppositional Defiant disorder) plus Anxiety and depression. Poor little man waiting 3 years to see nhs paediatrician. We knew we could not wait anymore.

I am now in a financial dilemma though. For 3 hours yesterday it cost us £1245 and we get the report in a couple of weeks but for the full test god only know's how much this is going to cost and really don't have the money. I am sure we will find the money though as have no choice.

    On a slight positive.

Completed level 500 on candy crush and no more levels at the moment so I will have my life back for a little while.:T

Such a shame you've had to pay to have this done privately. Cant you now push for diagnostic tests on the NHS on the back of the private report? The diagnostic tests for autism are lengthy and involve opinions from several specialists, that could cost an absolute fortune :(
From memory, involved in diagnosis from my DS paediatrician, specialist paediatric OT, speech therapist, Ed psych. We also had neurological tests done to rule out other things.

I hope you can manage to sort it out without having to pay any more. A 3 year wait to see a paediatrician is scandalous! :( You should complain very strongly to your local trust

Dont suppose i can be of any help here as my kids are all grown up now, but surely, cant you get these sort of tests done on the NHS?
Does your son`s school/social services have any input on this?
    Or maybe your own GP?
can they not reffer you to the Child Development Centre of your hospital or similar?
You really should not have to pay for these sort of tests for a child, this is outragous amounts of money.
It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

    Manners cost nothing! grrr

Was in Ts last night while waiting for my sons footy to finish!! Not traditionally whoopsie time as bit too early but I wandered over to the meat and fish reductions area - no one there just the guy with the whoopsie gun - spotted 3 bits of salmon on his tray to be reduced so hung around - one more person came up and was looking as he put the three bits of salmon on it and I took all three - conscience then got the better of me and I out one back to which she swiped it - I said looks like they are a good bargain ( down to £3 for a side of salmon from £12) she just ignored me and walked off. A bit of acknowledgement for putting it back would have been nice in my opinion or maybe it was karma for me being greedy in the first place and taking all 3
