Not a morning person...

I can't say I've ever been a morning person, but I don't recall getting up being as painful as it is these days. My eyes are usually very sore and often appear red if I look in the mirror and I struggle to focus properly before about 9.30am. Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm not a morning person because my eyes won't cooperate... Does anybody else have this problem?

Add a bit more water to the Gin the night before.

I'm not a morning person either, I've been late for work for 20 years!

I also envy people who wake up feeling refreshed. Have you mentioned the problem with your eyes to the optician? It might be worth checking with them.

I'm not a morning person. I've done jobs that have required me to be up at 5am and it was like torture. I just cannot function before the day is in double figures and have the sore eyes and nausea if I have to be up early. My best hours are between about 6pm and 10pm.

This sounds familiar! The same here...
  • If the problem is specifically with your eyes, you haven't added anything to your bedroom you might be allergic to? Feather pillows or duvet? A plant? Is the bedroom dusty (sorry not meaning to say you are a mucky pup lol!) I'm allergic to the tree outside our bedroom window and that's unpleasant at certain times of the year. I get it more in my nose than my eyes but a colleague gets hay fever mostly around her eyes so it is a possibility.

If it didn't used to happen and now it does I'd be looking at environmental factors first.

I don't think I've ever woken up feeling refreshed, and I'm usually most awake at about 5/6pm. It takes me a while to wake up properly, my alarm went off at 7:15 this morning and I'm still feeling tired and half asleep.

I've never been one for early mornings.

I agree with belfastgirl that it sounds like an allergic reaction to something.
When my eyes are sore I wash them with aqueous cream, which normally helps.
