A quick query. Can we claim mis-sold PPI back from ANY company? The reason I ask is I know of a loan which was taken out with a separate finance company other that a bank and I'd like to know if it can be claimed back. I've no paperwork for the loan so any guidance would be appreciated.

No.
1 - you need to have a complaint reason
2 - the firm needs to have been regulated for insurance (or been a member of an earlier body). Car dealers, mortgage advisers etc rarely were before 2005. Banks were.
3 - you have to bought it on an advice or sales process. DIY cases are your own responsibility.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
