DCA - wrong data

If a DCA claims they've written to you but you don't have any correspondance and it comes out later on down the line they been writing to an old address all along.. where would you stand in regard to dealing with them? should you inform them their data is wrong or leave them stewing and wait for them to correct their data?

The potential problem with them having an out of date address is that could take court action against you without your realising about it, and so you could end up with a CCJ without your knowledge.

I suppose whether its worth informing of them of your actual address depends on what you are doing regarding the debt, whether you are paying it, planning to set up a repayment etc

  • oh it'll be paid, just wondering as I spoke to them on phone and said to send letters they said they ahve and I've never heard off them before... so wondering if it's the wrong address.. I might give them a call if I dont' see anything in the next few days.
