Advice on fitted wardrobes please?

I am thinking of getting fitted wardrobes as we are extremely short on storage space and think they may be the solution.
I had a quick search on google and found Hammonds. The prices seem to be in the region of £2500 for the cheapest:eek: Is this the average cost of having these installed?
Fitting them ourselves isn't an option as me and OH are pants at DIY!:o
Where would you recommend and what sort of price am I looking at for one wall of fitted wardrobes. (about 8ft wide)

I'd suggest finding a custome wardrobe maker or a local carpenter. If you needed fancy corner work and the like then the specialist companies are a good start, but if you want what I think you do (a single run alonga wall then technically all you need is some tracks at floor and ceiling level, 2 or 3 sliding doors then some bsic bit of carpentry to style the interior space i.e. hanging sace/shelving). IN our last two houses we've had 10foot versions of the above built(due to old chimney breasts making standard wardrobes awkward), both times it's been under £900 fitted0

Have you checked out Ikeas range of PAX wardrobes. Come in 0.5 or 1m lengths and can be put together. Have to heights - high or very high. Large selection of frame colours and doors - some sliding. Some wicked things that you can put inside.0
