Veg Boxes in Central Scotland?

Hello,

At the moment I get my veg box from Abel & Cole. I'm quite happy with it but because it travels all the way up from the south it's perhaps not the best option, plus because of the added courier charge it's not best value.

I'm happy with their website & customer service, although sometimes the veg isn't as fresh as it should - I think this is more down to the courier company than Abel & Cole.

I have tried Lomond Organics - who were atrocious! Poor website and non-existant customer service!

Can anyone recommend a veg box who deliver to Lanarkshire area please?

Have a look on https://www.bigbarn.co.uk . You can search for local producers in your area. There seems to be a box scheme running from Slamannan.

Hi Mikki,

My mum uses 'the whole shebag', and she's in South Lanarkshire - their stuff is excellent (we sometimes share a bag), and they will add/ remove stuff if you don't like certain things.

Having lurked for ages on here I've finally signed up to give something back from all the tips I've used.

I don't know where in Central Scotland you are but there are a fair few schemes in the Lothians and Fife.

East Coast
Bellfield
Pillars of Hercules

Just the ones I can think of off the top of my head, I think the Soil Association Scotland and/or Friends of the Earth Scotland have directories. I've never had a box delivered but East Coast and Bellfield go to Edinburgh Farmer's Market and we buy our veg from them, very good!
