  • Hi there

I have been reading your input with interest. This is my first posting so hope I'm doing this right!!

I read the CCA request letter posted in 2006. I just wondered if this was still appropriate for 2010? I have 8 credit cards and a loan and thought it was worth a go!!

If so, would something simple like this suffice please?

    [My Address]

    [date]

    [The Loan Company]
    [Company Address]

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re: Account/Reference Number ____________________

I am writing to request a copy of the above credit agreement.

I understand that I am legally entitled to receive a copy of this credit agreement on request. Please find enclosed payment of £1.00 in accordance with the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.

A true signed copy of this agreement should be supplied within 12 working days. Failure to do so is a criminal offence under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77−79),

I therefore look forward to hearing from you in due course.

    Yours faithfully

I think he might mean can you request a CCA of an agreement taken out in 2010 or do they have to be before 2007. If that's not what you mean Gordon, apologies:o

The advice being given on this forum now , is verging on plain wrong , and even misleading
  • I mean on debts several years old

    Warmest Regards,

    Gordon

I was told that you can contact the creditors and arrange a payment plan with them, I had tried to go down this roafd before and ended getting hounded something silly, plus there was lotsmore interest being added than I could comfortably afford to pay.

I am not working now, but after reading through some of this thread, I just wondered what to do for the best, I would still get phone calls, I did get a phone call from a chap yesterday who was quite rude. Advice for dealing with this ranges from payment plans to voluntary bankruptcy

I am not clued in on all this, but it seemed to me that there were those on this thread that knew what they were talking about

  • Is there a particular aspect of this thread you refer to when you say the advice is wrong and misleading, what parts of the thread, or does it all pertain to your comment please?
