Business Idea, Need Some Advice Please

I have an idea for a business which in theory could appeal to a huge amount of people.

I have a rough idea about the product I want to put together but there is no point doing this(and spending money)until I have done market research.

I was thinking of setting up a Facebook business page and get some feedback via that. What other tools, preferably free, can I use for market research?

Also can you recommend any forums aimed at people like me, who have an idea but need guidance on getting started.

Thank you.

If you would be happy to share your idea on a public forum such as facebook, why not share it on here - or at least a broad outline of it?

There are a lot of people on here with a wealth of experience in running businesses who could advise?

limesurvey might be useful, and it's powerful IF you ask the right questions (not just ones that reinforce your opinions)

And give away my billion dollar idea? Haha

Your response doesn't make any sense. You're happy to give away this billion dollar idea on Facebook but not here?

    +1

    My thinking too.

I would trust the opinion of people on here who have actual experience rather than the bunch of dolts on facebook.

Nothing like being optimistic (or delusional?):)

As you're not giving any product detail away I would suggest the following sites to get yourself recognised :-

Facebook Fanpage - Building a specific niche
Pinterest - Great for bookmarking your pics and info in one place
Google +1 - Post your updates for quicker indexing
Twitter - Good for posting micro messages and updates

    All the Best
Lao Tzu - "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime"

Derek Bok - "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance"

An idea is worthless unless you can implement it.

survey monkey is pretty good and easy to use, there are a wealth of business forums just use google to find them (but then you could just use the business section of this one) and as someone said earlier it seems a bit odd you would be willing to share on fb but not here where you would get some decent advice - being cautious is of course a good idea but don't think people on fb won't 'steal' an idea. The go for it program is pretty good to help you get started - but you will be asked to share your idea there and even your local bank can give some good start up advice.

    Good Luck

  • Search on google for forums based on niche .

You can also use some survey sites.

Myspace is a older option but it is still valid.

Another best idea is to use yahoo answers where you can get quick reply.

If your business is technical niche then you can try quora
