I bought a medium pumpkin in Aldi yesterday at £1.49, their medium size ones are bigger than Tesco and Asda's Large one.

Marrows, and I suppose pumpkins , freeze OK, keep them thick and though they go soft when defrosting they keep shape better.

I always freezer pumpkin (to make pumpkin pie). I freeze mine in puree form, I find it easier this way.

10p for really big ones ( the one I got is around 5.5Kg ) in Sainsburys this morning.

As I was walking I could only carry one , but they had loads left and hoping to buy a couple more tomorrow when I have the car

My mum always buys a carving pumpkin as they are cheaper per kg. She bought a 3.5kg one for £2 and if she bought that size if was charged per kg - it would be c£6.50!

So far, we already had pumpkin seafood soup, pumpkin chowder, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffin, grilled pumpkin salad, pumpkin risotto and still got half pumpkin left. Next on the list are pumpkin gnocchi, pumpkin & meat stew, pumpkin donut, pumpkin pie. Pumpkin is very versatile and we are not bored of it yet.
