Cute french recipe- peanut butter buttons-actually look like buttons-look

:)I had to share this. I'm not sure if it's been posted before but I thought it would make a very nice gift in a food hamper.

I would post the photo direct but not sure how to.

50g butter
50g peanut butter
1 beaten egg
200g flour, plain
Half teaspoon bicarb
100g light brown sugar.
1teasp vanilla essence
Set oven to gas mark 5, 180, 375f during end of chilling process

Cream butter and sugar, beat the peanut butter into mixture, same with egg and vanilla.addd sifted flour , bicarb, mix to a soft dough.
Wrap it in cling film and chill for an hour.
Roll out half cm thick , cut into rounds and put on a non stick baking tray, use a smaller cutter to press the indentation into the dough and a skewer to make button holes. Bake for approx 10 minutes then leave to cool a little before placing on wire rack.
I confess I haven't tried these and suspect they may need to be quit small but I thought they looked so nice.
The last biskwit is the one, not the sandwiched ones.
