Increase CC limit

Hi,

I took out a "bad credit, credit card" with capital one. It had a £100 limit and I use the card to put diesel in my car and pay it off in full each month in the hope of rebuilding my credit rating. I received a letter today from capital one stating they will be increasing my limit to £400. I have no intention of taking advantage of this and will continue using the card as I have been. I was wondering if I should still allow them to increase the limit or should I request it's left as it is? Xx

I'm a firm believer that with credit cards to keep the limit as low possible and don't take a limit that you don't need, but that's quite low, so personally, I would break my own rule and let it be. As long as you keep doing what you are at the moment of course... :)

Yes I'd go with the £400 limit, but keep theregular spending to a similar level to now.

If this is your only card it would give you more flexibility if you need to buy something with section 75 protection (still paying in full of course).
