Now this is saving money!???

Hi
So chuffed - just sold first thing on Amazon!!!
But also we had a car- an audi - we couldn't sell for love nor money - it's worth about 2-3k but no-one wants it as insurance bracket is too high!
Anyway long story short we bought a very old victorian house (deposit helped towards current situation) but it needs a lot of work - no carpet except in bedroom - no double glazing until recently and no gas - kitchen size of a cupboard - middle room a mess needing changing into fully fitted kitchen etc
Anyway I met a painter/decorator/kitchen fitter guy and my other half being a mechanic traded him a service on his old escort for ripping out some old fireplaces.
Turns out this guy wants the car and so he's going to overhaul the entire house minimal material cost to us - free original fireplace for bedroom in exchange for the car. Meaning our house value will increase by about 10k for pretty much nothing!
Result???

Regards
Pippa & Andy
