Hi,
I'm trying to make my daughter's costume for victorian day next week but my sewing machine isn't playing & I can't find the instructions anywhere!
I've threaded it all up fine but the bobbin under the needle keeps getting tangled, slmost like there is something stopping the cotton from going round it properly so it only does 3 or 4 stiches before jamming.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix it
before I sew it all by hand!
Thanks,
Lou.

Either the bobbin is not threaded correctly. Or you are using a different weight thread on the bobbin and the top thread. Or it could be the timing out in which case proffessional help is needed. I suggest you make sure the bobbin is in correctly first. What type of machine is it?0

Hi,
It's an E&R Classic model number LC21
I've only used it a few times & threaded the bottom bobbin from the top thread so I know they are the same! I think it's threaded right but to be honest i'm not 100% sure, it does a couple of stiches but then tangles

Is it a drop in bobbin or one put in a case and put in from the front?£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

It sounds as though you have not put the shuttle in the case correctly, the thread should ome off to the left, if its a metal bobbin case there is a slit in the side with a spring, hold the bobbin in the case and slip the thread down the slit then pull on the thread so that it goes under the spring, then insert the bobbin into the case by holding the spring on the back of the bobbin case and turn it until it clicks into place,. Then turn the wheel by hand and bring the top thread up when you start to sew, hold the two ends with your finger until you have sewn a few stitches.
The other thing is that you may not have got the thread through the tension discs on the machine front, check the little wheel with numbers on where the thread goes through, it should be set at between 4 and 5 try turning it up slightly and see if that cures the problem. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
It looks like you put the bobbin in a case and then put it in from the front.
This will be fun to explain.:rotfl:
When you put the bobbin in the case the bobbin thread should pull off clockwise.
With the bobbin (in the case) Bobbin side facing you pull the thread and there should be a slot about a 1/4 of the way down.
Pull the thread so it goes into this slot.
Then put the bobbin and case as usual into the machine and turn the top needle to collect the bobbin thread as normal.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
