Paid Article Writing Sites?

Has anyone here tried writing for paid article sites?

For example http://www.infobarrel.com/
They pay you 75% of ad revenue generated by the ads around your article.

Just wondering if this is a more viable money earner than making your own blog? Because you don't need to build up a strong website to give your content (and ads) exposure to generate extra cash.

Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I would always opt for a personal blog and write my own stuff. It's easier in my opinion and you can get paid commissions as an affiliate for any sales generated through companies like Amazon, Clickbank, Commission Junction..............
