Hi lindsay,
There are some jobs that you're not allowed to continue to work at, M.P, solicitor and some accountancy jobs, otherwise it depends on whether your contract specifies that bankruptcy is not acceptable and will result in your dismissal. You'll probably receive an NT Tax Code which may alert your employers' to your bankruptcy.
I can't recall any posters on this forum having problems with their employers and I'd imagine if the company value your services you won't have a problem.
Regards

Hi again
It depends on the company, they may insist that you return the computer of they might decide to just write it off; without asking them the question you won't know until you declare bankruptcy.
If the agreement is in your name then presumably it'll be part of your estate in bankruptcy and if the computer is a few years old it's highly unlikely that either the company or the O.R will have any interest in it. What they'll do given that somebody else is paying the agreement I don't really know.

i got another question...
in feb i had a car accident of which i have put in a peronal injuy claim for time off work with whiplash and i was put on sleeping pills as i was having nightmares. if i get a payment from th claim will they take this away?
Is it best to wait to see if i recieveanything as i am only going to use the money to pay towards a huge electric bill i have from old house and tax credits overpayment.£2 Savers club £0/£150

If the compensation is for any special treatment or therapy you need as a result of the accident you should get to keep it otherwise it will form part of your estate. Timing is the key here, if you receive the money before you declare bankruptcy you may need to spend it on essential living costs, if you've been declared bankrupt then you should pass it over to the O.R.
You should be careful about paying any creditors if you're considering bankruptcy; it could be seen as showing fraudulent preference.
