a couple can live on £1k.

When I had my flat my mortgage was £650 and I was overpaying by £100 a month, now I can't really do that, though I anticipate my partner completing his training within two years then he can earn and we can be in a better situation.

I just wonder how much financial leeway people have if rates go back to "normal" and what people think "normal" is.
  • We're in the £3000 income £1k payment boat. I reckon we could cope up to about 9%. looking at our budget about £1k is luxuries. if the worst comes to the worst hubbie (currently a stay at home dad)will have to get a job- gasp. Luckily we have a five year fix so no nasty surprises until the kids are in school.
