Bains & Ernst

Hi

my husband and i have just accepted a debt management plan with Bains & Ernst(.co.uk)
After initially looking for a loan through moneysupermarket finding one filling in info, i had a phone call. got transfered 3 times all different companies repeating the same info till i ended up with B&E...
Anyone else with these and are they ok?

We have the paperwork being emailed through in the morning then someone from their team popping around tomorrow evening 6.30pm to talk us through and sign the paper.
Is there anything we should be wary of? I ended up telling my mum tonight who is now trying to talk me out of it and goto CAB!
please reply asap as i dont want to go ahead if they are ones to avoid
Many thanks for reading steph

b&e are definitely one to avoid. they are incompetent and will charge you for doing what over companies will do for free.

was a complaints thread on here years ago that got pulled because of the amount of because the b&e rep was getting on it.

Yes, as above. CAB good as are Step change. They do not charge. Others will make money out of your misery.
You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)

we have husbands mum sitting with us so hopefully she will suss them out!
  • Use a debt charity, such as CAB or step change. That way all the money goes to the debts, not on commission to B and E

Don't have direct experience of any of these companies but why pay for something which is available for free and then its more money going to pay for your debt and not towards the salesmans shiny suit!

I would be inclined to cancel the appointment so there is no chance of you being railroaded into signing
