the government itself seems to have serious angst about the quality of its own education system

there seems to be a lot of talk about failing schools these days.
I'm not sure whether that is a cause for celebration, or a cause for regret.

It has long been accepted that there are crap plumbers, and crap garages/car dealers etc. But in recent times, it has become clear that there are also crap hospitals and crap police forces. And the banking industry, as well as the press, has been shown to operate in the gutter whenever it promised a result. There are crap child protection services, and there are also crap schools - it is well-documented. What evidence do you need?

ps - I forgot to mention crap estate agents. Apparently they are still finding ways to offer self-certificated mortgages to potential buyers. Check out Channel4's Dispatches programme this coming week.According to Clapton, I am a totally ignorant idiot.0 -

I am not a teacher.
Yes I certainly do know that they behave like that, especially the supply teachers. I have personal experience of it.
Yes I could but I would give away who/where I am.
It is gruelling working in schools like that.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -

Supply teaching is by definition short term cover.
To condemn all teachers as staying only a few weeks because short term cover for sickness etc only stay a short term doesn't seem extirely balanced.EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%
