Christmas idea cheap and fun

Last year we planned a treasure hunt for our eight year old son on Christmas Day which ended in a bran tub made out of a box filled with shredded paper. It could not have been a bigger success, and the bran tub made loads of mess. This year he has said all he would like for Christmas is a treasure hunt like last time, but an even longer one that might take him outside. The size of the prizes really don't seem to be an issue and I have to say, it was much more enjoyable for us as well, rather than the more frenzied approach. I would recommend this to anyone whatever their budget and would love to know if anyone else has the same sort of magic injected.

What a lovely idea. I am making a lucky dip box for a school Christmas fair and found these lovely little free printable boxes. They are so cute and are just big enough to hold a funsize mars bar.

Will try, not to good at this, my grandkids roll their eyes and call me Nanny Dumbo. I didn't get a computer till I was 65 and struggle with most of it.

have you thought about geocaching? It's all done for you! We take our nephews and 'plant' suitable treasure at the caches just in case there isn't any - but we've have so much fun with it!
