Robinson Way Letter - General Advice

Hi All

This is my first post here so I'm sorry if I've missed any existing information here on the forum that might answer my question.

I received a letter from Robinson Way Debt Collection Agency today, it's basically asking me to confirm if I lived at an address so they could confirm their records (which I did around 5-6 years ago).

Should I respond to them or wait for them to send something with a little more information? I'm just worried that If i don't I might get a knock on the door one day from a collector.

I have no doubt that I probably have a couple of debts lurking around, but I'm unsure how to approach this letter.

Would I be right in thinking that if i were to contact a collection agency I would be able to arrange a payment method that best suits my situation? e.g. I'm only able to pay £xxx towards the amount owed over x number of months.

I appreciate any advice you can offer.

I wouldn't respond to their request at this stage. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. As the debt is 5/6 years old, it will soon become statute barred. So keep stum.
You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)

Do not respond until they come up with what exactly it is.

Then send a prove it letter to see what, if any, supporting documentation they have.

Most important thing though. Please post on here and ask before you do anything.
