Can you help me get debt written off if I offer a lump sum

If you have defaults you probably won't get a mortgage for 6 years
sorry.

Hi. If you are in England (I presume you are) then debts become statute barred after 6 years. That means if you haven't paid them for a period of 6 years or written to them about the debt in that time then they are statute barred (unless they have already taken you to court and obtained a CCJ). Them writing to you about the debt doesn't count in regards to the 6 year rule. Whether paying them off now would make any difference to your credit file now I'm not sure, I suspect now but maybe someone else can confirm?
With regards to the other debts then I would probably try and settle with the largest debt first and work your way down. I think you can start at about 30% of the debt and see how you get on. Make sure that they will record your credit file as satisified and that they put in writing that they will not sell the remaining debt on nor pursue you for the rest.

Iv spoke to a few charities and they have confirmed everything will stay on my credit report for six years from the first default so will not matter what way I settle the det and that I'm better of trying to settle it now and keep my credit report clear thank you for all your help there is not a quick fix to this is still going to take up to six years as you said but at least I'm on my way out off det and have had a harsh lesson about lending0

Thank you this is what has just been said to me is I have to share the amount I'm offering to all the companies and make it fare or they will not except my off it will still affect me but only for the six year form the default which with all but wonga are over three years old so I'm going to try settle with them all and save for a deposite and plan for the future. I should be det free with a year this way0

I can see why they said you should offer it fairly between your creditors (And why a charity would urge you to do this) but you are well within your rights to try and make private settlements and then just tell your dmp provider that they have settled and to leave them off the dmp.
It's up to you but it would make more sense to me to get rid of the biggest debts first.

I'm going to work out a fair percent between all of them and write to them and offer to settle and see what happens I want to be det free is the biggest thing I'm looking at another three years untill my credit will be in a good state but I can't Expect much with how iv handle finances. At least this way I know I can clear it and in so many years time I will have a better credit rating0

*HBS IS AN AWKWARD MARE ALERT!!*

By the way, it's "debt" not "det".
Although, for some reason, this hasn't annoyed me as much as when "dept" is used instead of "debt".
Good luck, OP. You're tackling this head on and hopefully you can get somewhere with your creditors
