Is Sunday a working day

She should only lose one day if shes booked to return on the Sunday, because her saturday shift will still count as a rotad day off. Im assuming so because she hasnt mentioned the saturday shift being an issue.
It will even itself out, because she will I assume get a day off the following week, as she comes back on the Sunday. You cant just assume that a rota is always going to be Monday - Friday. Im assuming the OP works in retail and she has said herself she finishes on a Saturday so its obvious she does work weekends.
Yes, of course a Sunday shift will count as a working day, if you are on the rota to work it as soon as you come back from holiday you just need to take the extra days leave or ask someone for a swap. Or do the shift and not lose any of the allocation.0 -
Well, I would query this on the basis that: you work 5 days per week, and have booked 5 days holiday. A week is 7 days, and therefore the 2 remaining days should be days of rest, unless they require you to only book 4 days holiday that week as you are actually working 1 day.
Ask HR if you need to book 5 days or 4 days leave as you are working 1 day that week, so surely one of the days Monday to Friday must be a non working day, and therefore not a holiday...
Just edited to say, if the week is Sunday to Saturday, then the Sunday after your holiday is the first day of the next week as Monday would be in a more traditional place of work. In this instance as long as you did not work the Sunday prior then you have had 2 rest days that week ie Sunday and Saturday, so it would be correct."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Surely the Key point here is that the OP mentions that they work on a ROTA of 20hours over 5days.. This implies its not always the same days each week or hours even?
Its important to know, possibly from the contract when the Working \ ROTA week runs - as the OP is implying that it is Sunday to Saturday.. Therefore its unfortunately just when there working week runs from..
I had the same scenario as a student working in a supermarket on Nights at holidays..
Just meant sometimes you would have Fri \ Sat off one week, then Sun \ Mon of the following to have a longer weekend.. some weeks would just work straight through.. Though often there was the ability to swap shifts with people to cover what needed...0
