Nightmare applying for mortgage

Hi

I am working via a broker and I am having a real nightmare at the moment applying for a mortgage. The reason is because I am being told that I am just not appearing in any Experian searches that the Halifax conducts - they cannot find me. But I have access to my experian credit report and can see Mortgage Quotation searches are appearing on it.

Originally we thought the issue was that my existing mortgage was not appearing on my experian credit report. I resolved this though after having about five conversations with experian on the phone. The issue appeared to be because of some anomalies in my address.

But still continue to decline because of not finding me. This is really disheartening and I want to pull my hair out. My credit score is perfect and I am on the electoral role and have been for over three years.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Would I be better off ditching my broker? He is taking a few days to get back to me between every conversation and it is getting really frustrating.

  • check your name spellings are correct and the same on all documentation check your address is the same on everything, sometimes any slight difference can cause big problems,

if you are a Amy, but its spelt Amee that kind of thing confuses CRA's
we had same problem , I have unusual name and we live in Wales,

nobody seems to use common sense these days

do you live in wales ? if so around 80% of people have some kind of problem with CRA ,
our local council said they get hundreds of calls from people asking for proof of them being on electrol register becsue it isn't showing on CRA's

it took us 5 years to get Experian to recognise my partner , funny though as the other 2 CRA didn't have any problems

hope you get it sorted soon

All members of the CML use Experian in some form i.e. NationalHunters.
