Savings and IVA

Hi Guys,
I always read on here but never posted so all new to this. My husband has just taken on a n iva but now might have to give up work and look after the girls as my oldest has ADHD and ASD. We have just put in a claim for DLA ect but very early days and not sure how that will all work.
I was wondering if any one had an y tips and advice on how to make savings based on our statement of affairs if he quites works. please see below. We dont have any savings but i would very much like to get going and start us back on the right track.

Is the statement of affairs what you are actually spending at the moment? or is this the figures that were used in the IVA statement?
Are you both working currently? or just OH? If both of you how much will income reduce by if OH stops working?
How many in the family?

Other places you could maybe look to see if you can save something off the mobiles cost and the paid TV costs?
Would it be cheaper for the children to take packed lunches rather than have school meals?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I'd start by reducing the amount you spend on your mobile(s).
Also, I'd get rid of the Satellite/Digital TV, and go to Freeview or Freesat instead.
Just getting rid of the Pay TV will save you £420 per year.0 -
Hi,
I`m not too familiar with ADHD or ASD, how old are the girls ? are they of school age or lower ? reason I ask its a big decision to give up work to look after your kids, my little lad is 4 and autistic, he takes some looking after, but will be going to a specialised school next September, he attends play school at the moment every morning, some places they will take them all day, mornings are free for 4 yr olds, but afternoons you have to pay for, could he not work flexible hours at all ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. The figures are based on having an iva at £220 and myself just working. No income from OH. I do agree with cutting TV costs down but thats a fight ill have to take on with OH as he likes his F1.
I did also think about pack lunch that would save £60 per month. Also the the girls: 1 is 7 and has ADHD & ASD and 1 is 10 months.
We have spoken about him going back into part time once lilly gets some free spaces.
Are whole family is myself, OH 2 Kids and 1 very naugthy bulldog.
