Reported on BBC site
Milliband now jumping on the payday loan bashing bandwagon, (rightly)Mr Miliband's stance was supported by the creator of the MoneySavingExpert.com website, Martin Lewis.
Mr Lewis said a survey of parents conducted by MoneySavingExpert.com suggested that 30% of children under 10 are repeating advertising slogans from payday loans companies.
"We've been calling for a ban on payday loans on children's TV," he said.
"The risk is they effectively groom a new generation of children, normalising, legitimising and mainstreaming this dangerous type of niche borrowing."0 -

No nagging about loans, as they are a bit too old. I can remember "doing my nut" years ago before we had sky/freeview, but had it while on holiday. The holiday apartment had kids tv - cartoons etc and it seemed that every second advert WAS for a loans company. At the time I ranted about getting kids used to the idea of being in debt. Given that kids tend to watch the cartoons on their own the ads were clearly aimed at them, not their parents.
I try to discouage "bad" debt - we now have no debts at all - the credit cards are only used rarely and if they are, they are always paid off in full at the end of the month.
The trouble is that with interest rates so low for so long we are now bound to end up with a generation not used to saving but used to bad debt.
