yankee Candle holders

I spent a whole £1 on 3 yankee candle plates, a votive holder and china lampshade (they're all probably called something fancier than that but I have never had any yankee candles before). Anyway, all these are brand new and still have stickers on the bottom which say not to wash. Can anyone tell me why please? They are china after all. Very puzzled.
Oh and I won't be going to the expense of buying yankee candles so any ideas on what to do with the china lampshade gratefully received.

I had some Yankee candle holders. Beautiful things they were but you couldn't wash them because they were hand painted. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

They will be porus and if they get too wet they will discolour. You should be able to wipe them with a very well wrung out damp cloth though.0

I have one of the china lampshades, when the yankee candle ran out i put the glass pot in the freezer to harden the remaining wax to remove it. I now use the glass pot filled with shells and a regular tea light candle. Could you find a jam jar the lampshade fitted on and do something similar?0

I have the small Yankee candle lampshades. I found they fit the small jar candles sold by Superdrug at £1 each.0
