Hi
We made Delia Smith's cooked Mincemeat recipe yesterday but used butter not suet as we got it reduced. Does anyone know if it will store the same way as making it with suet?
It's only to last till Christmas and I used sterilised jars and put it in cool like the recipe said but the jars were steam sterilised so hot and as were the lids and they have sealed properly.
Also the recipe included alcohol added at the last minute (we used rum) so surely that will help preserve it too?
Basically, will the butter go off?
