Finding OWL wildly inaccurate

I had solar panels installed at the end of May and I'm really happy with them, but I'm not so happy with the OWL monitoring system that came with them. I expect some inaccuracy, and it wasn't too bad in the summer when the daily totals were quite large, but now its getting ridiculous.

For example today my generation meter tells me that I have generated 1.55kWh all day. My OWL tells me I have generated 4.5kWh and exported 1.5kWh.

Does anyone else have this problem or is my unit faulty? Is there a better monitoring system which is more accurate?

My Wattson/Holmes setup isn't a great deal better.

Just as soon as I can finish building it I'll be changing to a 'count meter flashes' system
