How to announce a competition

Newbie here.

I've read the rules on the "PLEASE READ - Posts by the MSE Team" thread and I have a great competition to announce, but it falls foul of point 9. "No Advertising Of Own Websites". Its on a website that I work for.

How can I go about announcing it, without breaking the rules?

You can't post the comp or approach any member to post it for you. If a member is approached by someone to post any comp if it''s a friend, relative or stranger they risk loosing there membership here

Thanks. So I guess that means I can't!

As you can tell, I am a newbie. Are there any channels out there that are good for announcing things like this, that people on here might read and pick up on etc?

You could also announce it on twitter with #competition or on facebook.

Our competition scouts are pretty good at finding comps, so there is a fair chance that it will end up here anyway, especially if you promote it via any/some/all of the ways mentioned above.
