    Hi
Can anyone explain the Paypal method of sending money abroad. Can it be used to send cash from abroad if you don't have a bank account in that country to deposit it in? I don't understand the method of paying money in via your credit card. Both parties have email and Paypal accounts. Thanks for any help.

Does anyone know the cheapest way to move funds to a european bank account on a regular basis relatively cheaply???

The bank charges too much, and also the companies such as HiFx can prove expensive and time consuming.

Is there an easier way?? Surely people do this on a regular basis??

Thanks very much xx loosy xx:p

What is your definition of cheap?
How much does your bank charge for this service?

You are right that an International payment is £20 but what about Economy payment (cost £10?) or if you open an account with LTSB Spain I'm sure that they offer free transfers.

    Hi,

My Wife and I together with our dog and two cats will be emmigrating to Canada hopefully later this year.

Once our house is sold and the mortgage paid off we will have around £50,000 to transfer. My question is, given that some agencies charge quite large fees for foreign currency transfer what would be the cheapest way to transfer the money to Canada?

As ever all help gratefully received.

    Tack

    Cheapest is not always best.

Ask your bank for a forward exchange contract details to see what you would get - use this information to compare online sites that other users of these boards have recommended in the past.

I would estimate maximum cost of sending by bank transfer would be £40.

    Hi,

I own a property in Canada and I transfer funds via XEtrade. They charge no fees and the exchange rate is pretty reasonable, especially for larger amounts. You have to set up an account, they are based in Vancouver I believe. They have a website.
  • I'm looking for a little advice if I may or some pointers.

A friend of mine has just moved back home to Australia from UK and is having trouble getting her money to follow her! It seems HSBC (the international bank) want to charge her a small fortune to transfer her money to another (albeit Australian) HSBC account

Are there any other ways of getting money home? I guess the problem is two fold. Getting the money into the right country and transferring it from Sterling to Australian Dollars??

    Any help appreciated,

    Thank you
