How much are you short to be able to get the house you looked at? Could you not borrow the money from your mum and dads fund, and pay it back before march from the housing benefit that you would then claim? Esther x

  • I'M ABOUT £500 SHORT AND I'M REALLY NOT COMFORTABLE BORROWING THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY, (oops shouty caps) when , even though i have budgeted living expenses, there could be things that crop up that i haven't accounted for and i'd be screwed paying back 100 or so a month. if i wait a month or two i could have that extra £500 or more and i'd still move withing the dates needed. i'd rather not risk it and then struggle :D thanks for trying to find solutions though. makes me feel very blessed that strangers care :D

  • at £58 a week i can even start putting a bit of that aside into a savings account for her. If i can impliment a few ideas i've learnt from here we won't be wealthy but we will be a lot better of then i could of imagined I would be as a lone parent. might get that sunny summer holiday after all.

How does the CSa payment work, will you get a lump some for the backdated bit or is it split over the weeks.
    You've accumulated quite a bit, that's good.
    A positive day.

At £58 a week backdated to July, you should have your £500...but from experience, wait until you get it to spend it ;) I waited quite a while for my backpayment, albeit about 5 times what you should get!
