Tell me about it! We have done a full budget for the move. Given the costs, we certainly won’t be moving again any time soon!

I'm doing some research myself on mortgages now, but we've got a broker appointment booked on Saturday (no obligation at this stage) to see what they can find for us too.

We may end up paying slightly more than we would have with HSBC, in which case we’ll look for something with no ERC. I should be made permanent in the next six months, so we could switch back to HSBC at that point.

If I’d checked this with HSBC earlier we wouldn’t have looked at houses or marketed ours until I was permanent. :( Ah well.

    :j

We've had our offer accepted on the house we wanted, and the broker has already found us a deal at only 0.1% more than HSBC. Also a lifetime tracker so no ERC, so we could switch back to HSBC in the future.

Going to ask him to look up the best 5 and 10 year fixes too, just so we can consider them.

24 hours of panic over. :o
